 FUN TRIAL CHAIR’S DUTIES:

This is a list of things to consider and tasks to complete or delegate.

Dates: You will never satisfy everyone!  Just make sure you avoid other dog events and major holidays (Easter and Memorial Day). Get them set and let Nadine Kohn (Membership Chair) know a month before the first fun trial.  Nadine will send out a mailing or an announcement in the newsletter.

  •  Birds: Pigeons and/or Chukars. You can never have enough. Start looking for sources early, at least a month before the first fun trial.  You will need between 80 and 100 for a fun trial. You will average 3 per entry.

  •  Grounds: Find grounds.

  •  Ribbons: Minnesota Trophies in Hopkins (952-933-1596 A.J. Schoenecker) has low prices and has supplied us in the past.  You just need to be specific on what you want.  Order the small ribbons at least 1-1/2 months before the first fun trial. It only takes two to three weeks, but if they mess up you will need time for them to fix their mistake.

  •  Plaques: Minnesota Trophies in Hopkins also has the pattern for the design on the plaques. Order the plaques and overall ribbons in early December so you are sure to have them by the banquet.

  •  Flags, Signs & Vests: Get them from the Spring Field Trial Chair. Be sure to return them to the Fall Field Trial Chair.

  •  Report: Keep track of all costs and entries to report to the club.

  •  Entries: Send the entry fees to the Club Treasurer ASAP.

  •  Placements/Points: Fill out Placement sheets for each Fun Trial and add to the book.
